Fruit Diplomacy: Tripura CM greets Bangladesh PM with ‘Kew’ Pineapples
Just like last year, a hundred boxes have been sent which contains six pineapples which total almost 750 kilograms in weight.
Fruit diplomacy is back between Tripura and neighboring Bangladesh. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday sent a hundred packets of the state’s special queen pineapples to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The packets that were sent through the Agartala Integrated Checkpost will reach the Bangladesh PMO through the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
Just like last year, a hundred boxes have been sent which contains six pineapples which total almost 750 kilograms in weight.
Noteworthy here is that earlier in 2021, former Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb had started the tradition of gifting the state’s renowned fruits to prominent personalities.
Most of these fruits have consisted of the state’s famed queen pineapple.
