Eight injured after massive fight breaks out over land issue in South Tripura

A police vehicle was set ablaze during a massive fight which broke out between two groups of people at Madhya Raiyabari in South Tripura district on Sunday evening.

Over 8 people including women were injured in the fight which broke out over some land issues in the area.

The injured sustained cuts and had to be hospitalised.

Following the clash Inspector Rajkumar Jamatia, Officer-in-charge of Killa police station rushed to the spot, while the police were busy trying to calm down both parties, some miscreants set the police vehicle on fire.

Meanwhile, the OC said how the incident started and who had put the police jeep on fire, everything will be revealed in the investigation.

The OC also informed that the fight was over some land issues where a government project was supposed to start in the area.

Meanwhile, senior police officials with additional troops have rushed to the spot and are camping in the area to prevent the situation from further deterioration.
