CPIM demands re-polling in both Dhanpur and Boxanagar constituencies; says it was rigged

A day after the by-elections for two constituencies in Tripura-Boxanagar and Dhanpur, the CPIM has demanded a re-poll, alleging that the by-elections in both constituencies have been rigged.

The CPIM has accused the BJP and a section of the police and civil administration of colluding and rigging the voting on Tuesday.

CPIM state secretary and MLA, Jitendra Chowdhury, said that yesterday’s poll was a ‘drama’ in the name of the election.

Chowdhury also alleged that a large section of the administration had worked for the party in power, and thousands of outside BJP supporters were there in both the polling constituencies, including a few ministers.

The CPIM further alleged that their polling agents were forcibly driven out of polling booths by miscreants mobilized by the BJP.

Furthermore, the CPIM has demanded the arrest of the miscreants who allegedly terrorized the voters and the immediate removal of Sepahijala SP and the returning officers of both constituencies.
