Centre Approves Rs 40 Cr for Tripura Flood Relief

HM Shah affirmed the central government's unwavering commitment to the people of Tripura in the wake of the devastating floods

The Centre has approved Rs 40 crore in advance, as the central share from SDRF (State Disaster Response Force), to provide relief to the flood-affected people in Tripura, said Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah affirmed the central government’s unwavering commitment to the people of Tripura in the wake of the devastating floods and said, “No matter what, our sisters and brothers in Tripura will find the Modi government standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them to battle these difficult times.”

He also said that currently, 11 teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), 3 columns of the Army, and 4 helicopters of the Air Force are actively engaged in the affected areas, providing crucial support in rescue and recovery efforts.

“Given the flood situation in Tripura, the central govt, under the leadership of Modi Ji, has approved the release of ₹40 crore in advance, as the central share from SDRF, to provide relief to the affected people. The 11 NDRF teams, 3 columns of the Army, and 4 helicopters of the Air Force deployed by the Centre are already assisting the state govt. in relief and rescue operations. No matter what, our sisters and brothers in Tripura will find the Modi govt standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them to battle these difficult times,” HM Shah posted on X.

Tripura is grappling with one of the worst floods in 67 years since 1956. The death toll from the catastrophic floods has mounted to 25.

Currently, 3,500 families have taken shelter in the 450 relief camps and over 17 lakh people have been affected due to the devastating floods.
