Assam police arrests youth involved in human trafficking from Tripura

In a successful crackdown on human traffickers, a team of Assam Police arrested a youth from South Tripura district with the help of Belonia police station on Tuesday.

The accused identified as Partha Sen, has been arrested and produced before the court for transit remand.

Paritosh Das, officer-in-charge (OC) of Belonia police station, said that a team of Assam Police led by sub inspector Chitta Ranjan Bhora arrived at Belonia police station and provided documents for the arrest of one Partha Sen, who is wanted in connection with several frauds including human trafficking of Rohingyas.

Das added that on June 12, Partha was arrested in Belonia along with a Bangladeshi woman, and a specific case was registered against him in the Belonia police station under IPC Sections 461, 471, 120-B, and 370, besides the Passport Act.
