Discussing the finer details of the recently presented Union budget, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways and AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal addressed a meeting of eminent intellectuals, leading business persons, academicians among other socially conscious citizens at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala on Tuesday.
Speaking at the meeting, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, Northeast is the engine of India and the budget will strengthen the journey of development in Northeast to a great extent.
He further added the budget will help in connecting different regions of the country through development of waterways.

The budget provisions for different ministries related to the infrastructure and communications are being integrated through PM Gati Shakti which will give a powerful push to the efforts of infrastructure development which is inclusive and sustainable.
The meeting also was attended by Manoj Kanti Dev, Minister for Commerce, Industry, Civil Supplies for government of Tripura; Deepak Majumdar, Mayor, Agartala Municipal Corporation, Dr Manik Saha, president, BJP Tripura, and Parmananda Sarkar Banerjee, Convenor of the meeting.
