Agartala hosts 2nd Bangladesh Film Festival, Bangladesh I&B Minister inaugurates

With an aim to enhance people-to-people contact and relationship through cultural diplomacy, the 2nd Bangladesh Film Festival was inaugurated in Agartala today.
Organised by the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala, the film festival was inaugurated by Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Government of Bangladesh, Dr. Hasan Mahmud and attended by Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb as the Chief Guest. Tripura’s Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Agartala Arif Mohammud among other dignitaries were present at the inauguration.
Addressing the gathering, Bangladesh Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud stressed the importance of people-to-people contact and the role of soft powers in further developing the relationship between both countries.
Meanwhile, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb welcoming the Bangladeshi delegation to Tripura said that there is immense scope in Tripura for filmmaking. CM Deb further said that Tripura and Bangladesh have a lot in common in their culture and such an event like Film Festival is a big step towards enhancing harmony in the region through mutual cultural exchange.
