Tripura CM takes tough stand against post-poll violence; asks DGP to take tough action; also speaks on TIPRA Motha issue

A day after being sworn in Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha today sent out a strong message against those involved in post-poll violence.

Briefing newspersons, soon after chairing the first cabinet meeting, Manik Saha informed that the government has received inputs about disturbances from few parts of the state.

Reacting to this, the Tripura Chief Minister said,”We have received some inputs about disturbances from some places, I have informed the DGP. I told the DGP to book everyone, whoever it is whether they are our party workers or workers of other parties.”

Chief Minister Manik Saha also added,”Dont’ take law into your own hands, the government and the police will do its job.”

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Saha also appealed BJP workers not to resort to any kind of violence.
When asked if he was happy regarding the talks between Home Amit Shah and TIPRA Motha Chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, Chief Minister Saha said,”We are always happy. We talk to everyone, we are talking to You (journalists) also, we are always happy.”

Saha further reiterated about the BJP’s agenda for inclusive growth and development. He said,”Whether it is TIPRA Motha or anyone else, we want the tribal areas to develop, we will do as much as possible for that.”

However, the Tripura Chief Minister in clear terms said,”We do not agree Greater Tipraland.”
