In a bid to further enhance the Public Distribution System (PDS), Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sahah on Tuesday launched the distribution of packaged spices at subsidised price through the Fair Price Shops (FPS).

Our government is a government which works to resolve the complications. This is not the kind of a government which seeks to keep problems alive. This is a pro-people’s government which works for the welfare of the people.”
“People have seen it in the last 5 years also our government is determined to resolve all problems by considering it as a challenge. And we are working on that basis,” Chief Minister Saha added.
Besides, Chief Minister Manik Saha also appreciated the efforts of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department and said, “We have taken the responsibility to strengthen the PDS system and the concerned department is also working on this aspect positively. Our honourable minister (Sushanta Choudhury) soon after taking charge of the department (Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs) gave it a new momentum.”
The Tripura Chief Minister said that ration cards will be made into Smart Cards.
