Marathon Girl of Sikkim Phurba Tamang added another feather to her cap after she won the silver medal in the World 10K Bengaluru Marathon.
Phurba won the silver in the women’s 25-29 age category.
The 16th edition of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) World 10K Bengaluru was flagged off this morning with a new route testing runners from around the country and the globe.
Like always, the field comprised of elite runners from across the country and overseas.
In March this year, Phurba Tamang, had achieved a remarkable feat by winning the 3rd edition of Tsomgo Ultra Marathon. Tamang covered a staggering distance of 75 kilometers with a commendable time of 9 hours, 48 minutes, and 16 seconds.
She had also clinched the bronze in the Women’s Open Category of the 9th Edition of the Apollo Tyres New Delhi Marathon held in February this year.
Prior to that she had emerged triumphant at the Kolkata Full Marathon, crossing the finish line with an impressive time of 3 hours, 23 minutes and 39 seconds covering the challenging 42.2-kilometer distance. This event too was held in February this year.
