Top SKM leaders to join SDF today

Over the past few days there has been a series of resignations in the world of Sikkim politics. Resignations have been submitted by leaders of BJP, SDF and SKM.

Founder Spokesperson of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), MN Dahal will join opposition SDF along with Dr. Shiva Kumar Sharma who worked for SKM party in research and analysis wing. Both the leaders will be joining the SDF today in presence of SDF President and Former Chief Minister Pawan Chamling in a programme held at Jorthang.

Over the past few days there has been a series of resignations in the world of Sikkim politics. Resignations have been submitted by leaders of BJP, SDF and SKM.

On December 20 last year, ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha’s (SKM) leader Dr Shiva Kumar Sharma and Namchi District SDF president C L Gurung quit their respective parties.

Namchi District SDF president C L Gurung also resigned from SDF after being with the party for 30 years. In his resignation letter, Gurung said that he is resigning from the Namchi SDF District President position and from the primary membership of the party due to personal reasons. Gurung thanked the party for all the opportunities. Prior to that, Sikkim’s main opposition party Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF)’s spokesperson Avinash Yaka also had resigned from the party.

In his resignation letter, Yakha blamed the party’s policies for his decision. Yakha said that he had supported SDF while it was in power and even as an Opposition party.

Not only this, Sikkim BJP president D B Chauhan also had resigned last year in December. He submitted his resignation to BJP National President JP Nadda. He cited internal fight and dissension and blamed the party’s central leadership for his resignations.
