Sikkim Woman Found Dead in Nehru Park in South Delhi’s Diplomatic Area

A woman from Sikkim was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the upmarket Nehru Park situated in the Chanakyapuri Diplomatic Area of South Delhi on July 9.
The deceased, identified as Devi Maya Gurung from Singling, Soreng in Sikkim had been residing and working in Delhi. Her body was found lying in the park by the visitors.
Sources said that her father and brother are on way to Delhi to claim the body.
The police have started an investigation into the death.
The Sikkim State Commission for Women had approached the National Commission for Women (NCW) yesterday and requested their intervention in this matter.
NCW has taken cognisance of the matter and has issued directives to the Commissioner of Delhi Police to expedite the investigation so that the culprit can be brought to book and justice delivered to the deceased.
