SKM Spokesperson Jacob Khaling alleged that SDF together with the help of forces outside the state have resorted to character assassination of SKM women leaders
The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) today alleged that the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) has resorted to character assassination of women leaders and workers of the SKM.
Escalating its attack on the opposition party, the SKM leadership alleged that the SDF is working in connivance with forces outside the state with the intention to malign the stature of SKM women leaders.
Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, SKM spokesperson Jacob Khaling stated that this was not a mere allegation, but facts and that the party has enough evidences to prove it.
Khaling said, “This is not an allegation, but we are saying this on the basis of whatever evidences we have with us till date. Nowadays, a lot of explicit posts can be seen in the social media against the state government as well as other individuals who are associated with governance and that includes women leaders of our party who are victims of character assassination. Explicit photos are being circulated with the intention of character assassination, it is happening under the patronage of the SDF from outside the state. We have evidences with us in the digital form as well as hard copies. When the time comes we will expose it before the people and the press as well.”
When asked as to whom he meant by terming as forces outside the state, Khaling without naming anyone said, ” We want to say that to destroy the politics in Sikkim and the public life nothing like these needs to be done. In today’s politics such things are not expected, they are preparing themselves for their own downfall.”
The SKM leader maintained that his party will fight strongly against forces who try to divide the state.
In December last year, a row over deepfake had erupted in Sikkim politics as the SKM and SDF were seen involved in a bitter war of words. The SDF had accused the SKM of preparing deepfake contents to malign the stature of former CM and party Chief Pawan Chamling. But the very next day the ruling party termed such allegations as “baseless”. The SKM said that it was an attempt by the SDF to divert the attention of people.
