Chamling also said that until and unless CM PS Golay leaves Sikkim, the protest will continue as the state is not safe under his government

The protest against the Supreme Court’s decision labeling Sikkimese Nepalis as “foreigners” and “immigrants” has gained traction, with the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party calling for a state-wide bandh today and tomorrow.

Speaking to North East Live, former Chief Minister and SDF party president Pawan K. Chamling said that this protest will continue along with the decision of Sikkim.

“Until and unless the tag of Sikkimese people as foreigners is removed from the verdict, the protest will go on,” he said.

Chamling also said that the Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang, thinks that he is greater than the review petition on the Supreme Court verdict. The Supreme Court has also requested that CM Prem Singh Tamang Golay be charged with contempt of court.

Chamling also said that until and unless Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang Golay leaves Sikkim, the protest will continue as the state is not safe under his government.

On Friday, the SDF party took out a rally from the SDF Party office, Indira Bye Pass, to the District Office to protest against the SC’s verdict.
