Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Monday visited the landslide-affected village of Pathing under Yangang subdivision in Namchi district and met the affected families who have been lodged in Pathing Pathing Junior High School being used as a temporary shelter.
The Chief Minister has directed government departments to initiate the process of acquiring land so that the landslide-affected families can be resettled.
The CM was accompanied by Minister Kunga Nima Lepcha, Minister Bhim Hang Subba, MLA Raj Kumari Thapa, CEC VP (SKM) RK Basnet and other officials.
At least 60 families were rescued as a massive landslide hit Pathing village in South Sikkim on Thursday. The area is prone to landslides and at least two massive landslides were experienced last week.
