Sikkim: Court grants bail to SDF spokesperson Arun Limboo

Sikkim witnessed a fresh round of political violence between members of the two political parties in Soreng, West Sikkim where SDF was holding a coordination meeting.

Sikkim Democratic Front Spokesperson, Arun Limboo who was arrested by Soreng Police after a political clash last Saturday, was granted bail by the District and Sessions Court, Gyalshing.

On Thursday, after hearing the parties, the District and Sessions judge, Soreng District In-charge KC Burfungpa granted bail to Limboo after his counsel assured the court that he will not influence any witnesses or tamper with evidence and will cooperate and appear before the investigation officer as and when required.

However, the court has rejected the bail applications of Rinzing Dorjee Bhutia and Avinash Yakha.

Arun Limboo sustained several injuries on his forehead during a clash between SDF and SKM party workers. Limboo was arrested by Soreng Police and since then he was under police custody until his bail on Thursday.
