Sikkim CM assures to raise worker wages to Rs 15k per month
The CM said that the amendment will be tabled in the coming sessions of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly to be held this month.
After returning from the Northeast tour, Sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang addressed a gathering at Rangpo on Friday afternoon where he assured to increase the wages of workers from Rs 9000 to 15,000 per month.
The Chief Minister said that the amendment will be tabled in the coming sessions of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly to be held this month.
Chief Minister Tamang said that the working sections of the Sikkimese populace had voted his party to power in the 2019 assembly election and now it was his turn to reciprocate by enhancing the wages.
He further said that his government has a slew of welfare schemes for the working sections. These include medical, housing, and education among others.
The chief minister’s decision was lauded by the workers from the government sector, Public Sector understanding, and private sectors.
Meanwhile, taking a dig at the opposition Sikkim Democratic Front, Tamang reiterated that the party’s agenda to disrupt peace and tranquillity will be exposed soon.
