Ganesh Rai, the Chief Ministerial candidate of Sikkim’s newly floated Citizen Action Party (CAP), and his supporters were allegedly attacked by miscreants during a rally this afternoon.
As per inputs, the attack was allegedly carried out by SKM party workers at Soreng under the Soreng Chakhung Constituency.
Visuals showed glasses of vehicles used by the CAP in its campaign shattered and also police trying to bring the situation under control.

However, no official statement by the police is still awaited.
Yesterday, too a team of the CAP was also reportedly attacked.
Worth mentioning, the CAP had sought permission from the Soren district administration to hold ‘Mobile Publicity Acitivity’ in the assembly constituencies of Rinchepong, Soreng-Chakung, Salghari-Zoom and Daramdin constituencies from January 18 till today. The district administration had granted permission too.
The CAP was launched in January last year. On Friday (January 26) Ganesh Rai was declared the Chief Minister candidate for the upcoming elections.
