Sikkim BJP president D B Chauhan has resigned.
He submitted his resignation to BJP National President JP Nadda. Internal fight and dissension is being said to be one of the reasons for Chauhan’s resignation. Chauhan is currently in New Delhi.
In his resignation letter, Chauhan has expressed gratitude to the party’s high command, and co-workers of Sikkim BJP for their “guidance, advice and cooperation” during his tenure as the party president for seven years.
“There are a lot of issues. There are issues with the karyakartas (party workers), and many of their issues remain unresolved. Also the alliance with Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, there is not much clarity in that. I tried a lot to resolve most of these issues. I have been in constant touch with the central BJP leadership to resolve these issues,” Chauhan told Northeast Live.
“If the party leadership is not keen in resolving the issues then there is no point in me continuing as the president. The party should have listened,” a dejected Chauhan said.
