In a tragic incident early today morning, a school bus carrying students of Preparatory, Nursery, and Kindergarten classes, teachers, and staff of Child Preparatory School, Makha Dhar Gau, met with an accident. The bus toppled into a gorge injuring 26 individuals including 23 students, one driver, and two staff members. The condition of 12 of the injured is said to be critical.
What is tragic is the fact that all the injured children are tiny tots in the age group of 3-6 years.
The unfortunate incident took place on the outskirts of Makha, about 50 km from Sikkim’s capital Gangtok.
The injured have been rushed to the STNM Hospital.
This is a developing story. The story will be updated once we get more details.
