Heavy rains and inclement weather in Sikkim have caused havoc in different parts of the state with landslides disrupting connections and blocking roads.

Heavy rains have caused landslides and other disruptions most of which have occurred in the Gangtok area and its surroundings.

A major landslide took place at the Manbir Colony at Gangtok which resulted in four vehicles getting buried under the debris.

No one has been reported hurt in the incident.

The incident has also led to the blocking of the Indira bypass near Manbir Colony.

Another landslide was reported near the Shiv Mandir area which led to the blocking of the link road to the Grendell School in Daragaon ward.

Overflowing of water in several portions has led to waterlogging and water rushing inside the houses of several people.

Meanwhile, authorities have made a makeshift camp for people affected by landslides and incessant rains at the Paljor Stadium.

The relief camp have been set up at the gymnasium of the Paljor Stadium. Authorities in the meantime are engaged in clearing the sites of landside and also trying to control the overflow of water in certain places.
