Sikkim Police has released the four individuals arrested in connection with the attack on the convoy of former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling on Tuesday.
Gangtok SP, Tenzing Loday Lepcha informed that all the violent party workers nabbed on Monday were arrested under a bailable offence and hence were released on Tuesday on bail.
The four were arrested after stones were hurled at Chamling’s cavalcade on Monday, damaging several vehicles, when he was returning from the assembly.
The arrests were made based on three separate complaints registered at the Sadar police station by SDF supporters.
Those arrested were identified as Sanjeev Gurung, Jigme Bhutia, Tenzing Bhutia and Navin Pradhan. They were also booked under different sections of the IPC.
Meanwhile, the three SDF supporters, who were injured in the clashes following the attack, were referred to Neotia Hospital in Siliguri on Tuesday. As per the source one is said to be in a critical condition.
