2 soldiers killed in road accident in East Sikkim
Meanwhile, chief minister of Sikkim, PS Tamang has expressed his condolence on the demise of two army personnel.
A tragic road accident has claimed the lives of 2 soldiers at Zuluk in East Sikkim.
According to the reports, the mishap took place at Ganek Dara in Zuluk near Nathula in East Sikkim where an army vehicle met with an accident that left 2 soldiers dead.
Of the two deceased, one is reportedly a Sikkim Scout while the other belongs to the Gorkha Regiment.
The deceased Sikkim Scout personnel has been identified as Manoj Chettri, a resident of Karongthang, Yangang in South Sikkim. He was serving for the Sikkim Scout battalion and was currently posted at Kupup, East Sikkim.
An investigation is underway and more details are awaited.
Meanwhile, chief minister of Sikkim, PS Tamang has expressed his condolence on the demise of two army personnel.
Taking to social media, he wrote “Deeply saddened by the demise of NB/Sub Som Bahadur Subba r/o Pokhrebong, Mirik, LNK Manoj Chettri r/o Karongthang, Yangang in an accident last evening at Zuluk. They were both jawans of Sikkim Scouts and were on duty when the tragic incident befell. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and friends and pray for the departed souls to rest in eternal peace.”
