2 Sikkim students missing case: SDF urge Gujarat Govt to take case seriously

A day after two students from Sikkim and one from Nepal were reported missing in Gujarat since August 28, the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party has expressed deep concern over the safety and wellbeing of the students.

The SDF party highlighted that despite the ongoing efforts by local law enforcement, no significant leads have been found regarding their disappearance.

In a release issued today, the party requested that the Gujarat government and the police take up the matter seriously and take necessary actions.

SDF also extended their full support and cooperation in the investigation process.

“We ask residents of Gujarat and New Delhi to be vigilant and report any information that may assist in locating these missing students. Your cooperation can make a significant difference in reuniting them with their families,” the SDF release said.

In a letter to Gujarat Chief Minister, Bhupendra Rajnikant Patel, the SDF wrote, “We are very concerned about the fate of two students from Sikkim who were studying in Nautanpuri Dham, Jamnagar. We appeal to you to kindly consider this matter as very important and take all the necessary action to locate the whereabouts of these students. This matter has been reported to the MP of Jamnagar as well. Only your immediate intervention will be able to solve this very concerning issue. With warm regards and expectations for quick resolution.”

Further, SDF extended its solidarity to the distressed family in these hard times.

Reports of three missing students came to light on Saturday after the news went viral on social media.
The two missing students from Sikkim were studying at Nautanpuri Dham Pranami Global School in Jamnagar, Gujarat, and were enrolled this year in the 8th grade. Another student who hails from Nepal, is missing too.

The distressed family has accused the school administration of negligence and has filed a complaint with the Crime Branch in Sikkim.

As per reports, the parents learned about the incident from another student attending the same school.

On Saturday, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang said that he had personally contacted the Gujarat government and instructed the concerned departments to expedite the search operations and take the necessary actions.

He has also directed the Resident Commissioner of Sikkim stationed in New Delhi to look into and take this matter seriously.
