Paper leak case: APPSC Chairman steps down

Owing moral responsibility of lapses that led to the leakage of question paper, Nipo Nabam has quit as APPSC chairman.

Nipo Nabam has stepped down as Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Chairman owing moral responsibility of the paper leak case. The APPSC chairman handed over his resignation letter to Governor BD Mishra.

It may be mentioned that preliminary probe exposed the involvement of the APPSC Secretary in connection with the assistant engineer (civil) examination paper leak case.

APPSC secretary Jayanta Kumar Ray has been put under suspension with immediate effect.

The probe into the case begun after a candidate filed a police complaint on August 29, stating that he suspected that the Assistant Engineer (civil) examination paper was leaked. More than 400 candidates appeared in the examination that was held on August 26 and 27.
