Manipur Congress vice president K. Tilotama has flayed the N.Biren Singh government’s move to discontinue government benefits to members of a family with parents having more than four children.
According to the Manipur Congress vice-president the government’s decision lacks sensibility and termed it unconstitutional.
She further said that the decision, if enforced with a policy, will be gross violation of Right to Life and constitutional facilities and provisions.
Noting that the cabinet took the decision to control the spike in population growth, the MPCC vice president urged the government to look after the unchecked infiltration of immigrants instead of focusing on how many children a parent has.
The N. Biren Singh cabinet in it’s last meeting had decided that a family with 4 children will not be entitled to avail government benefits. Besides, the cabinet meeting had also approved the setting up of the Manipur State Population Commission.
