A newborn baby was found dumped in a roadside drain near Banipur railway station in Dibrugarh district of Assam.
Dibrugarh witnessed a heart-wrenching incident. A newborn baby was found dumped in a roadside drain near Banipur railway station in Dibrugarh district of Assam.
Locals discovered the infant, already lifeless, wrapped in a baby towel with hospital tags, a hat on the head, and a napkin on the waist. A white bag lying nearby suggests he may have been abandoned in it.
It is suspected that an individual with cruel intent disposed of the child to conceal their stigma. The harsh winter conditions raise concerns over whether the baby was alive before being abandoned.
Shockingly, locals found the body while rescuing a stray dog searching for food.
Residents have condemned the act, demanding a thorough investigation by Dibrugarh police and stringent action against those responsible.
Such inhumanity underlines the urgent need for societal awareness and stricter measures to prevent such incidents.
