A red rhododendron tree which is in full bloom in Nagaland has captured the attention of none other than billionarie and Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra.
In fact it is the tallest rhododendron tree in the world with a height of 109-feet.
Mahindra was immensely impressed with the majestic beauty of the tree after he came across a post by ‘Explore Nagaland’ on X and he is planning to visit Nagaland to see the tree.
Sharing details about the tree, ‘Explore Nagaland’ in the post mentioned, “Standing 109 ft high at Mt. Japfu peak near Kohima, capital of Nagaland this is the tallest rhododendron tree in the world and holds the #Guinness record for being the tallest rhododendron.”
Anand Mahindra reposted and wrote, “Incredible beauty. Just waiting for us to discover it..What is the flowering season of this tree? It’s worth a visit to view just this tree…”
Worth mentioning, rhododendron is the State Flower of Nagaland.
Rhododendron, a small red flower popularly called ‘burhans’, is typically found at higher altitudes and their blooming peaks in March-April. Pink Rhododendron is the state flower of Himachal Pradesh.
