Nagaland government’s Department of Art & Culture hosted a “Tribal Festival” with the theme “Igniting Cultural Traditions” in Kohima today.
Advisor, Art & Culture and Tourism, Khehovi Yepthomi was present as the special guest.
Yepthomi said, “The Naga people have a rich and unique culture, with different dialects and traditions and everyone must strive to protect the unique tradition and culture.” Besides, Khehovi Yepthomi also encouraged people to form clubs and undertake cultural exchange programs.

Meanwhile, Secretary, Art & Culture, Athel O. Lotha, in her address said that the Nagas are artistic people having a colourful culture, which is a representation of earliest creative experience of the Nagas.
She said the vibrant culture of Nagas are truly reflected in the folk dances and folk songs.
Athel O. Lotha further said “Even though Nagas have similar cultural practices, there are distinctive features which are peculiar to each tribe.”
