NSCN-IM has strongly criticised Nagaland BJP President Temjen Imna Along for his remarks on the issue of separate flag and constitution. The NSCN-IM, in an official statement, said that Along is belittling the history and struggle of the Naga people by making such utterances. It was also said that Along is doing this at the behest of his political masters.

The NSCN-IM stated that the flag symbolises the sacrifices made by the Naga people in the past. Hence it is not something that the Naga people can foresake at an point. The outfit also called upon Along not to engage with such matters again in the future.

Speaking on the floor of Nagaland Assembly Along stated that everyone knows the demand for flag and constitution is not achievable. Along also questioned as to why solution could not be achieved after talks officially concluded on October 31st, 2019.

Along  also reiterated that it was important for everyone to understand flag and constitution demand is impractical and the Civil Society and pressure groups also need to understand the same.
