Nagaland school dept issues notification against proxy teachers

The Department of School Education has issued a notification, directing heads of Government Schools to ensure that no teacher under their establishment engages in the practice.

In an effort to eradicate the practice of proxy teachers in Nagaland, the Department of School Education has issued a notification, directing heads of Government Schools to ensure that no teacher under their establishment engages in the practice.

The Education department informed that there have been certain instances where people have replaced the names and photographs of teachers with the proxies and instances where service books have been fussed.

The Department further stated that this notification will ensure a strong message against the practice.

The department also warned that apart from the concerned teacher being served with show cause notice, action will be initiated against the head of school as well as the officer in whose jurisdiction the practice takes place.
