Nagaland Polls: BJP foot soldiers ‘unhappy with seat sharing,’ protests in Kohima, Mon, Zunheboto

Even as BJP and NDPP inked a pact over seat sharing for the upcoming state polls, the saffron party’s foot soldiers are not happy with the seat sharing formula.

Party workers gathered in front of the BJP party state office in Kohima and protested against the seat sharing formula of 20:40 which has been decided between BJP and NDPP.

The agitated BJP workers demanded that the seat sharing ratio be revised and a new ratio of 30:30 be set up.

The members of the BJP’s Kohima District Yuva Morcha submitted a representation letter at the state party office in support of Engineer Kropol Vitsu as the candidate for 15 Southern Angami II seat in the Kohima district.

Meanwhile, a similiar protest was held by BJP workers in front of the party office in Mon district.

The protesting workers demanded for a review of the seat sharing ratio and even threatened that they would not let any of the party’s top leadership campaign in Nagaland if their demands are not met with.

Protests have also been reported from Zunheboto where the BJP’s local mondal opposed the 20-40 seat sharing pact
