Nagaland CM Rio inaugurates Bailey bridge to improve connectivity in state

In another connectivity push for Nagaland, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Friday inaugurated the Bailey bridge over Zingki River.

The bridge will reduce the distance between Pungro sub-division and Kiphire district headquarters by 45 kilometers.

The bridge will also benefit about 35,000 people living in Pungro and Kiusam areas, as well as villages like Mimi and Thanamir Kongka on the Indo-Mynmar border.

Taking to Twitter, Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio wrote, “Inaugurated Bailey Bridge over the Zingki River.” The distance between Pungro sub-division and Kiphire dist. Hq. will be reduced by 45 km and will benefit about 35,000 people living in Pungro and Kiusam areas and also villages like Mimi, Thanamir Kongka, etc. on the Indo-Mynmar border.”

The Chief Minister further exuded confidence that the Bailey bridge will act as a catalyst for enhancing the quality of life of the people in one of the remotest parts of Nagaland.
He congratulated the DUDA for taking the initiative in planning and executing the project.
