Well, the Core Committee on Naga Political issue today held a marathon meet with the NSCN-IM leadership at the Chumukidema police complex in Chumukedima.
The NSCN-IM delegation was led by Rh Raising. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, UDA chairman TR Zeliang and other leaders were present in the meet.
The meeting comes just ahead of the Delhi visit of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and UDA chairman TR Zeliang.
While the NSCN-IM leaders refused to comment on the details of the meet, Core Committee member secretary Neiba Kronu without revealing much indicated that the NSCN-IM is firm on its flag and constitution demand and that the Core Committee. Kronu also said that after meeting the NNPGs and the NSCN-IM, the Core Committee will now call on the central leaders in New Delhi.
It may be mentioned that the Core Committee held a meeting with the NNPGs last week before today’s meet with the NSCN-IM.
Earlier, speaking exclusively to Northeast Live ahead of the meeting, UDA chairman TR Zeliang said that while the NPPGs have no issues as far as concluding the talks process was concerned, it was time for the NSCN-IM to try and address the contentious issues as solution cannot be delayed for long.
Zeliang also informed that he along with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio are likely to visit Delhi by the second week of April.
