2nd Chakhesang Open Naga Wrestling Championship 2022 to begin on November 4

Prominent wrestlers from Karnataka, Jharkhand and Manipur will take part in the wrestling championship to be held in Nagaland.
The 2nd Chakhesang Open Naga Wrestling Championship 2022 is all set to commence in a grand style from November 4 at Pfutsero in Phek district.
The Championship will coincide with a Peace Marathon which will be organized by Kalos Society Pfutsero. The 1st Open under 14 Naga Wrestling Championship will also be held on November 3.
This was informed by Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) President Vekhozo.
CWA President Vekhozo informed, the 2nd Chakhesang Open Naga Wrestling Championship 2022 will be graced by Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA and Co-Chairman UDA as Special Guest in the Inaugural function.
The Champion will receive a cash prize of Two lakhs, followed by 2nd Runner-Up One lakh and 3rd runner up Seventy Thousand.
The 2nd Championship will also witness prominent wrestlers from Karnataka, Jharkhand and Manipur. Prominent wrestlers from Nagaland including Kezhavizo Thevo, reigning Champion of 1st edition CWA Open Champion 2018, Venuzo Dawhuo will also be competing for the coveted title.
Participants in under 14 category will be limited to 32. The introduction of Under 14 age group is to encourage wrestling at young age by providing platform at bigger stage and to let the emerging wrestlers gain confidence and experience.
