Hornbill Festival: Will the iconic festival be held without the participation of people from Eastern Nagaland?

The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization is firm on its demand of abstaining from participating in the iconic Hornbill Festival.

In a bid to pursue the people of Eastern Nagaland for participating in the Hornbill Festival, the Eastern Nagaland Legislators Union (ENLU) had convened a meeting with representatives of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organisation (ENPO), Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation (ENWO) and the Eastern Nagaland Students Federation (ENSF) yesterday.

However, as per reports the meeting remained inconclusive. The ENPO, ENWO and the ENSF remained steadfast on their stand of not participating in the iconic Hornbill Festival.

Meanwhile, top sources have informed Northeast Live that the ENPO is awaiting an inivitation from the union Home Ministry for a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. This has been informed to Northeast Live by top sources. Well, this is a key development as the demand for a Separate Statehood in the Frontier Nagaland has grown louder with every passing day.

Sources added that there is no time frame for the invitation and that the ENPO might have to wait more as the Union Home Minister is occupied with the Gujarat elections.
