AICC Secretary Urges Public Disclosure of Key Agreements on Naga Peace Talks

The newly appointed All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary in charge of Nagaland, Christopher Tilak, has called for the public disclosure of the competencies outlined in the Framework Agreement between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM, as well as the Agreed Position of the Working Committee of the 7 NNPGs.

Tilak commended the Nagaland government, led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, for forming the Political Affairs Committee, but stressed that making these agreements public would not only enhance transparency but also empower the facilitators and interlocutors involved in the peace talks.

“The two agreements are pivotal to the peace process, and bringing them into the public domain will foster better understanding and participation among all stakeholders,” Tilak stated.

In a related development, Lok Sabha MP Supongmeren Jamir expressed optimism over the appointment of an interlocutor at the level of a Union Minister, suggesting that it would elevate the Naga peace talks to the highest level of political engagement.
