The 4 day long Kohima Street Carnival kicked off today at New NST, Kohima.
Advisor, Urban development & municipal affairs Dr Nicky Kire launched the 4 day long extravaganza which has been organised by Kohima Smart City in collaboration with Kohima Municipal Council and other government departments, local music and fitness institutes and citizen based organizations from September 29 to October 2 along New NST to Razhu Point, covering a wide array of events.
The carnival is part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations to commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious History of its people, culture and achievements.
Some of the events lined up are the Nagaland Piano Festival organized in collaboration with Brilliante, Zumba in collaboration with De Operettas Music Institute, Busking in collaboration with TAFMA, Street Health Clinic for Senior Citizens with office of the Chief Medical Officer, Flower Exhibition and Sale with Kohima Village Women Organisation, Cyclothon with Nagaland Mountain Biking Association and Blood Donation Camp with the Voluntary Blood Donors Association to name just a few.
Other events include Street Food Festival, Painting Competition, Walkathon and Street Carnival for children.
