The NNPGs has opposed the pre-poll alliance between the NDPP and BJP stating that the seat sharing pact is a tight slap on the face of Naga people.

Citing that it was only on July 16th that 59 state legislators of Nagaland unanimously adopted an unprecedented and decisive 4-point resolution shedding off all apprehensions and ambiguity by appealing to the Indian political leadership to announce and sign an inclusive and honourable solution to the Naga political issue, the NNPGs said that the pre-poll alliance pact signed 10 days later is the betrayal of the integrity of the 60 legislators and UDA partners.

The NNPGs specifically targeted NDPP general secretary Aby Metha for allegedly betraying the Naga people. The NNPGs said that the pre-poll alliance is a brazen attempt to redirect and channelise political parties and common people’s energy to strategising electoral politics.
This, the NNPGs said was anti-solution politics. The NNPGs also asked if Metha desired elections more than solution to Naga political issue.
It may be mentioned that the NDPP and BJP have agreed to go for a 40-20 seat sharing pact.
