The NSCN-IM has termed some recent statements by BJP ministers and NPF leader on Naga political solution as outrageous. In a statement issued today, the outfit said that some legislators over stepping their role as facilitators.
The NSCN-IM statement added that the Naga issue is something that nobody wants to prolong and Irrespective of individuals or party, it has to be admitted that the issue is getting more sensitive by THE day and this demands careful handling of the situation without resorting to derogatory outburst and rhetoric.
The NSCN-IM statement added that the Naga issue is not something that has cropped up recently, thus, many of the Nagaland state BJP ministers and other party leaders are not able to fully appreciate its complexities and intricacies and simply allowing themselves to be carried away by their election syndrome.
The NSCN-IM added that the Naga solution should be issue based and guided by the principle based movement that has lasted for over six decades.
The outfit added that while it appreciates the enthusiasm shown by the state elected political leaders it would be tantamount to over stepping their role as facilitators when they started jumping beyond their assigned role, making certain statements on Naga solution.
The NSCN-IM asked the legislators to resist the temptation to quote unquote go overboard and throw further confusion in this sensitive juncture.
NSCN have not signed the Framework Agreement without applying our political insight, the statement added.
Significantly the NSCN-IM statement added that despite the deadlock like situation, the outfit stands for exploring every available means to find the meeting point towards Naga solution.
No amount of efforts will go wasted if the negotiating parties are equally determined to find the elusive solution. Mutual understanding and respect should be the driving force to take the stakeholders to the common ground, the NSCN-IM statement said.
