The family members of arrested Manipur activist Dr Mark Haokip are visibly upset over Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s alleged questioning of his Indian credentials. The family members said working for a Myanmarese organisation doesn’t make anyone a foreigner. They also appealed to the state goverment to forgive Haokip. Let’s listen in first to what Manipur CM N Biren Singh had said about Haokip.Haokip’s father, Limkhosei Haokip while regretting the CM’s statement said they come from a family of freedom fighters.

Haokip’s brohter also reacted to the CM’s statement and gave a detailed account of the family’s background. He said that their family belonged to Chandel.

He also requested the state government to forgive Haokip.
