In a joint operation with Assam Rifles, Cachar police recovered and seized 400 gelatine sticks and 400 detonators from a vehicle at Kalain Masimpur road of Cachar district early Friday morning. One person has been apprehended.
Assam Rifles sources said that explosives that were seized was coming from Meghalaya and was suppose to go to Manipur where situation is still tense.
On the basis of secret input Assam Rifles Srikona Battalion forces along with Cachar’s Kalain police managed to recover the large quantity of explosives. As confirmed by the sources, the person named Prosenjit, resident of Gumrah area of Kalain who was carrying the explosives in his vehicle has been apprehended.
