Mizoram Table Tennis star Lalrinpuia, who was wrongly accused and jailed at Mumbai Taloja Central Jail reached Aizawl today. On December 3, 2017 Lalrinpuia was arrested at Mumbai Airport by
Mizoram Table Tennis star Lalrinpuia, who was wrongly accused and jailed at Mumbai Taloja Central Jail reached Aizawl today.
On December 3, 2017 Lalrinpuia was arrested at Mumbai Airport by Narcotics Control Bureau. The Mizo TT star was wrongly accused after being allegedly duped by two Mizo women and their African friends.
The Mizoram Table Tennis Association and various members of the society donated 14 lakh to fight his case and prove his innocence.
After spending 4 years, 3 months and 2 days at Mumbai Taloja Central Jail, Lalrinpuia was finally released on 15th March, 2022.
Lalrinpuia got a warm reception upon arrival.
