Miss India: Pranita Chettri to represent Sikkim, Tengam Celine wins Miss Arunachal

The first Miss India was organized by the local press in the year 1947 and the winner was Pramila (Esther Victoria Abraham).

Two talented and beautiful femmes from the Northeast were selected for the VLCC Femina Miss India 2022 from the auditions that were held in various places.

Miss Sikkim 2021 Pranita Chettri has been shortlisted as the Sikkim finalist for the beauty pageant. The 22-year-old hails from Tashding, West Sikkim.

Pranita and four other girls from Sikkim had taken part in the audition for Femina Miss India 2022. Results of the State-wise auditions were declared by Femina Miss India organizations on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Miss Arunachal 2021, Tengam Celine will be representing her state at the VLCC Femina Miss India 2022.

Celine hails from Pasighat district and is a sociology student. She is also the founder of One for Education, a project where she renovates and repairs dilapidated schools

With its vision to represent the best of India’s talent on international platforms, VLCC Femina Miss India 2022 has launched a nationwide hunt from February 14 for 31 finalists.

The first Miss India was organized by the local press in the year 1947 and the winner was Pramila (Esther Victoria Abraham).

The candidate who is looking to participate in Femina Miss India should be a minimum of 18 years and should not exceed 25 years old. The applicant should be a minimum of 5.3 inches tall and that should be measured without wearing heels. She should be an Indian passport holder.

However, the OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) cardholder can also apply but they will be allowed to participate only for the runner’s title. In addition to this, the contender who wants to participate in Femina Miss India should be single, not engaged, unmarried, or never been married.

In the year 1952, Indrani Rehman has been crowned Miss India. Indrani was the first Indian woman who participated in the Miss Universe that was held in the United States in 1952.
