Who will be NPP’s candidate for Shillong LS seat? Division among leaders ruled out

NPP spokesperson and cabinet minister Marcuise N Marak informed that the NPP will soon hold a meeting to decide and finalize the name of the candidate

The NPP is united and there are no differences among the different ranks of leaders in the party as far as deciding on a candidate for the Shillong Lok Sabha seat is concerned.

NPP spokesperson and cabinet minister Marcuise N Marak has ruled out reports of division among the leaders ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Regarding this the NPP leader said, “It is a political party. It is a combination of different leaders so obviously there will be argument, opinions. We are a party which considers unanimous and for unanimous we need to have different opinions. That is why discussions are on. Once we decide means, we will be deciding unanimously. There is no division as such.”

But who among the NPP leaders are vying to contest from the Shillong Lok Sabha constituency?

Regarding this, Marcuise N Marak said, “We don’t know exactly but there are a few (candidates) , I think. Himalaya Shangpliang is there. Dasakhiat Lamare is totally new for me, I don’t know. Let us see, the party will be taking a call.”

Marak further informed that the NPP will be holding a meeting soon to decide and finalize the name of party candidate for the Shillong Lok Sabha seat.
