Violence in Shillong: Clash between 2 groups; 2 vehicles including a police vehicle set on fire

In a shocking incident, an altercation between 2 groups in Shillong in the wee hours of today turned violent when they set ablaze at least two vehicles, including a police vehicle.
The faceoff between the two groups took place at around 1:30am today in the Laitumkhrah area of Shillong.
The two groups reportedly pelted stones during the clash. They then proceeded to the Laitumkhrah police station to file FIRs.
But things turned ugly when miscreants set ablaze a police vehicle parked in the police station premises. Another vehicle was also reportedly torched by unidentified miscreants.
According to reports, the fight between the two groups took place near DHS office in Laitumkhrah.
However, what triggered the situation is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched into the case, and more details are awaited.
