Ahead of the assembly elections, UDP is carrying out its extensive election campaigns in Sohra. UDP candidate Titosstarwell Chyne, during his campaign in Sohra exuded confidence and said no party can form the government in Meghalaya without the UDP. He added the party will win over 15 seats in the elections and will play an important role in leading the government. Titosstarwell further added UDP had joined the MDA hoping to bring better development in the state, but not much have taken place in the last 5 years
