Popular Disco and Reggae Band Boney M. to Perform at Cherry Blossom Festival 2024 in Shillong

The most awaited festival of Shillong, ‘Cherry Blossom Festival 2024’ is all set to make a grand return with an exciting line-up with special theme, promising to be a significant cultural event.
Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh on Monday informed that Cherry Blossom Festival 2024, scheduled to be held on November 15 and 16 with ‘The Year of Legends’ theme.
While speaking to media, Paul Lyngdoh said, “The cherry blossom festival will be held on 15th and 16 November, as usual we aspects footfall to the events and also expecting travelers not from rest of the country but even internationally.”
“This year we will be partnering with TRTL Tokyo, making Japan official country partner”, he added.
“ The diverse lineup will span genres including rock, pop, RnB, Bollywood indie, and Bollywood pop, with the addition of Nu Metal and K-Pop artists”, Lyngdoh added.
“Among the festival highlights will be an exclusive performance by legend Boney M., featuring founding member Maizie Williams, as part of their Farewell Tour”, he said.
Other highlights will include performances from DJ R3HAB, Bollywood stars Kanika Kapoor and Jasleen Royal, and tribute bands Queen Sensation and KORN SK. Legendary local band, The Great Society, will also reunite after 35 years.
Further, Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh expressed confidence in the success of upcoming events like the Cherry Blossom Festival and the Bryan Adams concert, predicting large crowds from across the country.
