Lyngdoh said, that she will get in touch with the members of the Search Committee as well as representatives of political parties regarding the matter

After all the noise and demonstrations demanding a review and changes to the Reservation Policy and the Roster System, not a single political party of the state had filed any query regarding the Police and the System even as the deadline for submitting queries ended today.
Meghalaya cabinet minister and Chairman of the government constituted committee on Reservation Policy, Ampareen Lyngdoh today pointed out that the government is doing its bit to address the issue of Reservation policy as well as the Roster system. But there has been no response from the political parties.
Sharing updates on the progress made so far, Minister Lyngdoh said that she will personally call and get in touch with the members of the Search Committee as well as representatives of political parties regarding the matter.
She said, “I will telephonically speak to all members of the committee and inquire from the political parties as to how they are going to go ahead about this. We had given them till today to submit their queries either to the Chairperson of the Committee of all political parties, or to the Chief Minister or to the Chief Secretary.”
The Minister said, “We will consolidate on all the materials that we get. We will look into the kind of queries that are being put forward. Even before calling for an expert committee, one must understand what are the questions that are being asked by various political parties, various CSO members, various NGOs.”
Minister Lyngdoh added that the government wants to make sure that it has experts for such queries who will be able to substantiate a legal scrutiny.
On June 6, the Meghalaya Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma had cleared the proposal to constitute a three-member search committee to select members for the Expert Committee to review the state’s Job Reservation Policy. The three-member search committee comprises of the Chief Secretary and has one member each from the Law Department and Personnel Department.
