The nails as claimed by the complainant was found inside 2 capsules prescribed by the doctors

In a shocker from Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills District, a woman claimed that she found nails inside capsules prescribed to her 12-year old daughter who is suffering from toothache.

As per inputs, the woman took her daughter to the Pomlum PHC where the doctors presribed Amoxicilin capsules for treating the ailment.
However, when the woman was about to administer the medicine to her child, she found the nails inside 2 of the capsules. The woman later raised the matter with the PHC officials and filed a complaint.

Soon after this, Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh constituted a medical team headed by senior specialists and an inspector of drugs to probe the matter.

But the team during the course of investigation reportedly found that one of the nails was actually bigger than the size of the capsule itself. The Meghalaya Health Minister told that this fact itself has casted doubts about the authenticity of the complaint.

According to the minister, the capsules in other facilities were also checked if there was any similar complaint but there was none.
